Our Story
The pub takes its name from Sir Hugh Myddelton, a Welsh entrepreneur who played a key role in creating the New River — a remarkable man-made waterway that carried fresh water from Hertfordshire to London. His innovative work helped transform the city’s water supply, leaving a lasting legacy that the pub proudly celebrates today.
